Ripenings Shrug (part of a three pattern guide)
This design is part of a three-pattern guide that features the beloved feather n fan stitch with color blending ideas, texture tips and guidance on how to texturize your knitting using multiple yarns -- perfect for stash-busting. Each pattern is knit side-to-side and is designed to be adapted to any size. I show the same piece being worn on a size 6 model and on me, who measures my chest in triple letters. Side to side knitting creates a vertical line flattering for most body shapes.
The shrug has a wrapped left front fastening on the right shoulder and a right front wrap piece that crosses the front and hangs over the back (highland fling with attitude). The straight sleeves flounce at the wrist thanks to the feather n fan’s stitch natural inclinations. All edges are trimmed with picot.
