Your Rising Sign is the astrological sign that ascended on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth. It represents your physical body and outward style. This luxe, modern cushion has style to spare!

Finished Size: 16.5” (42 cm) square to fit an 18” square (46 cm) pillow form

Notions: 18” (46 cm) pillow form or stuffing

Yarns: Worsted, aran, or medium weight yarns, CYC category 4, and/or bulky or chunky weight yarns, CYC category 5. The sample pillow used a mix of bulky weight and medium worsted weight yarns.

You will need a main color yarn and either 1, 2, or 3 contrast color yarns.

You will need about 385 yards (352 meters) of main color yarn for whole pillow including the border.

You will need about 115 yards (105 meters) of contrast color yarn(s) for whole pillow. If you use 2 contrast colors, you will need about 57 yards (52 meters) of each of two colors. If you use 3 contrast colors, you will need about 40 yards (37 meters) of each of three colors.

You can use any yarn you like. To create a tight-fitting cushion cover, a 3.5 mm hook is recommended for this pattern. Choose a hook size that is smaller than the recommended hook size on the yarn label to create a tight fabric. This will help your finished pillow look plump and last for years. Your pillow cover may be larger or smaller than the dimensions listed here if you choose a different yarn or hook size, so check your gauge if desired.

The sample pillow used 1¼ balls of Bernat Velvet yarn (bulky weight) in Burgundy Plum as the main color and less than ¼ ball of Lion Brand Basic Stitch yarn (medium worsted weight) in Boysenberry, and less than ¼ ball of Bernat Baby Velvet yarn (medium worsted weight) in Orchid Hush as the contrast colors
