Ristinummi
Ristinummi-rose is named after its discovery place Ristinummi, Finland. Its origins are unknown, but most likely the rose is from Russia.
The pattern is written for magic loop, but can easily be modified for double pointed needles. Needle A refers to instep stitches and needle B to sole stitches.
The pattern is mirrored, so make sure you knit both right and left foot instructions.
The sample sock was knitted toe up, on cuff down version the pattern is upside down due the nature of lace knitting.
Yarn:
100 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 425 m (464 yds)/100g. The sample socks were knitted with Chester Wool Company, Super Sock, 425 m/464 yds per 100g.
Needles etc:
80 cm/ 32 inches long or longer 2.75 mm/ US 2 circular needle or to meet the gauge
markers
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
36 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking.
