The inspiration for this pattern was the package of Ritz Cracker buttons that I discovered in my button stash. This is a comfortable, soft lightweight pullover sweater. It is suitable for a confident beginning knitter. The pattern is specifically for toddler size 3T, but with directions on how to modify for larger and smaller toddler sizes from about 18 months through 4T.

Yarn:

I used Cascade Heritage 150. This yarn has been discontinued by Cascade. It is an unusual weight, kind of half way between fingering and sport. I have been unable to find a precisely comparable yarn. I used about 380 yards of grey/brown, about 100 yards of gold, and about 60 yards of white.

(Striping is optional and left to the your discretion, adjusting yardage accordingly.)

You’re on your own with the stripes. Have Fun.

(Gauge is not specified, as the pattern relies primarily on measurements for a suitable fit.

Please be ready to measure for chest circumference as you go along. This is how you will get the size sweater you want.

However, gauge may be deduced from these Pattern Notes: 150 stitches = 24” finished chest. Therefore: 26 stitches in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles = 4”)
