My favorite kind of patterns are those that invite you to tap into your creativity and go wild! The Rive Gauche Scarf was designed with this in mind. There is no wrong way to knit it. You could use two of our Mini Skein Sampler Kits or mix in all the stash yarns to this this up in whatever stripe pattern sings to you! We’ll use basic lace and cable stitches to create a delicate yet quick to knit scarf.

Skill Level: Intermediate or Advanced Beginner Knitter (basic lace + cabling)

Materials:

2 Mini Skein Sampler Kits, sample is shown with 1 Mini Kit in Rose and 1 in Mauve.

If you prefer to use scrap yarn, you’ll need approximately 150 yards / 137 meters.

Needle Size: Size US 17 (12mm) straight or circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge (straight or circular will work!)

A cable needle or single double pointed needle to work the cable stitches

Size: One size fits all

Finished Measurements: Approx 74” long x 7-8” wide

Gauge: Approximately 2 sts and 2-3 rows stockinette stitch. Gauge is not crucially important for this scarf. You may find that some of the mini skeins are bulkier than others. This is what creates the lovely mixed up yarn look but also some variation in gauge.
