River's Song
Find peace and inspiration in the gentle sound of the river, the rippling of the water and the shiny pebbles in the riverbed, which are mirrored in the beautiful texture of River’s Song. The top by designer Emma Ducher is quite fitted yet gives you enough room to follow your own individual flow. Delicate details such as the unique neckline and the gently curved line of slip stitches framing the armholes will envelop you like soft waves. Explore the light and dark contrasts of the Melange colour Sage of our Cheeky Merino Joy like the deep and shallow parts of a purling stream.
River’s Song is knitted seamlessly from the top down. You start with the upper back and knit flat to the underarm. You then pick up stitches from the cast-on edge for the front shoulders, which are knitted separately, and then join them for the front. The armholes are shaped with increases before you knit the body in rounds. The delicate, textured pattern only consists of knit and purl stitches and is easy to knit. Slip stitches emphasise the armholes, continuing along the side to the split hem in a 1x1 rib pattern. The neck and armholes are finished with a 1x1 ribbing and a tubular bind-off.
The theme of our 2024 collection is inspiration. What inspires us to be inventive, to create something? Which small or big moment plants an idea in us and sets us in motion? With the names of the designs in this collection, we have tried to capture a few of these sparks. River’s Song describes the moment of contemplation while listening to a rushing river.
