MATERIALS
CONSTRUCTION
This cardigan is knitted flat bottom-up to the armholes, then body is divided into left and right front, and a back, that are knitted separately to shoulders. Front shoulders are made using short rows, and live sts left on stitch holders to be bind off lately together with corresponding back shoulder stitches using three-needle bind off. Stitches for sleeves are picked along armhole edges, then contrast lace is knitted. Once lace gets required length, live stitches are placed on stitch holder, and rest part of sleeve is knitted in striped pattern to required length. When lace and striped section are worked, contrast color section starts that if knitted in the round using DPNs of a smaller needle size, the sleeve is knitted to cuff. Now sleeve seams must be made.
Neck binding is picked up along the neckline edge and is knitted in twisted rib. Optional pockets are crocheted in the round and then sewn to fronts.
