The Lace pattern is charted and written.

The Roaming Mitts are the perfect accessory for the Roaming Hat, which was originally designed for Kate Davies Milarrochy Heids book. The mitts feature the lace pattern that made up the body of the hat.

These simple fingerless mittens are the perfect weight for indoor work mittens or just a light layer for a cool day. The pattern is feminine without being fussy and they can be made with less than 50 grs of left-over fingering in two colours! They only weigh 38 grs.

While the two colours of yarn show off the lace pattern beautifully, Roaming Mitts would be equally pretty in a solid colour of yarn.

They are quick to knit and would make a perfect last-minute gift! The lace is stretchy and fits my 8 inch palm beautifully. Make them smaller with a smaller needle size or larger with a larger needle size.

Make two mittens the same – there is no left or right thumb placement and the thumb is the simplest of all – an afterthought thumb with no gusset. There is a photo tutorial for the thumb insertion.
