Rockefeller, the Owl Ornament was named by a friend of mine after the tiny owl was found on the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller center in New York City in 2020.
The tiny owl ornament is 3.5” (9 cm) tall if using fingering weight yarn held double or worsted weight yarn.
A mini Rockefeller made of single held sock yarn Cascade Heritage Prints and worked on DPN US 1 / 2.25 mm is 2.3” / 6 cm tall.
The pattern would work in any yarn weight as long as the needles are adjusted to the yarn weight.
You will need about 50 yards / 46 meters for single yarn and 110 yards / 101 meters if double held yarn.
The owl is knit from bottom up, with a textured stitch on parts of its body. The top is closed with Kitchener stitch. The two eyes are knit separately and sewn on. Optional is to use two buttons or two safety eyes.
