Sizing
Newborn (baby, toddler, child, adult SM, adult L)
Fits head: 13 (15, 17, 19, 21.5, 23)” around
Yarn
worsted / aran weight yarn in 4 colours
MC for doubled brim: 90 (100, 120, 120, 140, 140)
MC for single brim: 70 (85, 100, 100, 120, 120)
3 CCs: 15 (15, 20, 20, 30, 30) yards each
Add 30 yards for pompom if desired
Note: As this colourwork motif has a changing stitch count, we recommend using a blockable wool or wool-blend yarn for this hat.
(Samples knit in Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in ‘Yellowstone’ with ‘Faded Quilt’, ‘Almanac’, and ‘Homemade Jam’, and ‘Homemade Jam’ with ‘Hayloft’, ‘Camper’ and ‘Snowbound’)
Gauge
Each chart repeat measures 1.125” using larger needles
Needles
US #6 / 4mm DPNs for Newborn size and 16” circular needle for all other sizes
US #8 / 5mm 16” circular and DPNs*
(or as required to achieve gauge)
Alternatively you can use the magic loop technique to knit in the round using a single long circular needle.
