Rockhound Pullover
The Rockhound Collection is on sale — 30% off the Hat, Vest, and Pullover Friday through Monday. No code needed.
Rockhound Pullover is the sweater you knit once and wear for years. The cables run front and back, framed by stockinette, and the deep V neckline folds into a collar that gives the whole thing a polished, somewhat collegiate finish. This is a knitter’s flex, texture and technique in a sweater that earns every stitch.
The fit is yours to choose. Choose less ease for a tailored silhouette, or more ease for a more relaxed vibe. The set-in style seamless sleeves provide the perfect amount of structure for a sweater youll never want to take off.
Design Details
The fit is what sets Rockhound apart. The set-in style seamless sleeves give it a tailored, structured shoulder that sits beautifully and layers perfectly over a dress shirt. Choose less ease for a polished and put together style, or more ease for the version you throw on and wear all weekend.
The deep V neckline and folded collar are the details that make it. Classic enough to wear forever, and interesting enough that your needles with be entertained from cast-on the bind-off.
Pattern Highlights
- Cables front and back with stockinette sleeves
- Deep V neckline with collar
- Two fit options, tailored or relaxed
- Customizable body length
- Seamless top down construction with video tutorials
Construction Overview
Rockhound Pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down. The yoke is knit flat first to shape the shoulders, sleeves, and V neckline. After separating for the sleeves, the body is worked in the round to the hem and finished with 1x1 ribbing.
Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round in stockinette, ending with matching ribbed cuffs. The overlapping V neck collar is picked up and knit last.
Yarn Notes
Rockhound works best in a DK weight wool with great stitch definition. Our sample was knit in Les Garçons British DK, a Bluefaced Leicester and Masham blend that gives the cables real structure and depth. The non-superwash fiber is soft yet crisp and the tonal shade lets the texture do all the talking.
Les Garçons British DK
Fiber: 100% British wool (BFL / Masham blend)
Yardage: 247 yds (226 m) per 100g skein
Tonal and solid shades work best for this design. Superwash yarns will give a softer, drapier result with a little less structure, which can also be lovely depending on the look you’re after.
