Rocky Mountain Sunset Hat and Cowl
A fun hat and cowl made primarily from half-double crochets stitched in the back bar. Dropped stitches give a woven look to the cowl and the hat brim; mock invisible joins make both pieces seemingly seamless while allowing unused colours to be carried up the back of the work. (See bottom photo at left for interior view of the mock invisible join.)
If the mock invisible join isn’t your thing, but you still want a perfectly seamless look, I recommend ending each row with an invisible join, and starting the next with a standing single crochet. (See pattern page below for links to tutorials on the mock invisible join and the invisible join.)
Classic Elite’s Liberty Wool was a delight to work with; a lighter worsted weight, perhaps a tad splitty, but smooth and silky to the touch.
Thanks for viewing, and happy crocheting!
