Crossing cables take center stage in these stretchy buttoned headbands worked in short back-and-forth rows. A modified slip stitch edging adds surprising dimension and elasticity. Choose from two cable variations, or substitute your own cable pattern.

To allow for stretching during blocking and use, make headband slightly shorter than desired finished length.

This pattern is part of the book Live Loop Cables in Crochet, which uses an innovative technique to create I-cord like cables on the fabric surface. Patterns were tech edited by Amy Daraghy (GreenHook on Rav).

Thanks for viewing, and happy crocheting!
