Floaty and translucent, Aerie Lace Mini Trios pair beautifully when double-stranded with Marianated Yarn’s Ava Lace.  The pattern transitions through the mohair/silk gradient set in stockinette and then two lace patterns, while holding one colorway of merino laceweight throughout.  The resulting fabric is frothy, lightweight, and lovely. Knit on a larger needle, the shawl works up quickly, too!

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions. IT HAS NOT YET BEEN PROFESSIONALLY TECH-EDITED, BUT I WILL ISSUE A CORRECTION WHEN EDITING IS COMPLETE.

Recommended Yarn:

Marianated Yarns Ava Lace (Main Color - MC) — 100% superwash merino — 931 yds to 100 g. Shown in colorway Arctic Ice.

Marianated Yarns Aerie Lace Mini Trios, one set (Contrast Colors referred to in order of usage as CC1-CC3, from lightest to darkest) — 64% kid mohair / 36% silk — approx. 183 yds to 20 g per mini (549 yds to 60 g in total set). Shown in colorway Atlantis.

Sample used approx. 549 yds each of both Ava Lace and Aerie Lace (includes an approximate 10% cushion for gauge differences.)

Sizing:
63” (160 cm) across and 27” (69 cm) deep.

Blocked Gauge:
15 sts and 27 rows to 4” (10 cm) in both stockinette st and lace patterns, with smaller needle.

Needles:
US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle, 32” length, plus US 8 (5 mm) needle for bind-off.

PLEASE NOTE: I actually used a US 8 (5 mm) needle for the sample, with a US 9 (5.5 mm) for the bind-off, as I do tend to knit somewhat tightly. Please consider your typical tension when selecting your needle size. Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used.

Other Materials:
Four stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Many thanks to Marian of Marianated Yarns for her support!
