Summer’s coming to an end, but there’s still time for some knitting pleasure! Let us collect our memories and impressions – the shells, roses and meetings – arrange them carefully while we’re knitting socks together. Like the last rose of summer, the Sock of Roses is a way to hold on to the beautiful summer for just a little bit longer. A last warming breath before the leaves turn brown and the winds blow colder. Now it’s time for one of our popular knit-alongs! This time we’ll knit a pair of socks in four parts – the “Sock of Roses”, designed by Maja Karlsson. The knit-along will be held in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and English.

The Sock of Roses is a toe up sock with short cuff and classic heel, knitted with the following techniques:

Judy’s Magic Cast On
Stranded Colorwork
Mock Cable Stitch
Cable Stitch Heel
Two-Color Ribbing
Elastic Bind Off

Sizes & Measurements:

We will offer the pattern with two foot widths, five foot lengths and five ankle widths. These you can combine after your own measurements.

Sizes – Foot length: 34-35 (36-37) 38-39 (40-41) 42-43

Sizes – Foot width: S/M (L/XL)

Sizes – Ankle width: XS, S, M, L, XL

Size of the body

Length of the foot: Approx. 22 (23) 24,5 (25,5) 27

Foot circumference: Approx. 21-24 (25-28) cm

Ankle circumference: Approx. 19, 22, 24, 26, 28 cm

Size of the sock

Length of the foot: Approx. 21 (22) 23,5 (24,5) 26 cm

Foot circumference: Approx. Ca 19 (23) cm

Ankle circumference: Approx. 19, 22, 24, 26, 28 cm

Important info:

Pick two contrasting colors – this will really show the beauty of the pattern!
Remember to knit a swatch before you begin – to see that your gauge is correct!
