Rosir Icelandic Sweater
Rosir is the Icelandic word for ’roses’. Katrine’s daughter is called Rose, and this sweater has been designed with Rose in mind. Katrine loves English historic roses, and when her daughter was born in 2000, the family was living in a house surrounded by more than 100 different kinds of rose. This sweater pattern is a modern interpretation of roses on an Icelandic sweater. Purl stitches in the pattern create an intriguing three-dimensional structure. The yarn used for this pattern is our own Önling No 1, a perfect choice for an Icelandic sweater. The sweater is designed to be slightly over- size, with a positive ease of approx. 5 cm / 2 inches, which leaves room for wearing more layers underneath to keep the cold at bay when you go outside.
