Roslyn Shawl
The Roslyn Shawl combines elements that make a classic top-down shawl a soothing and wearable knit. A textured body of garter ridges gets you started, then a series of slipped stitches and yarnovers keep you interested. The minimalist beauty of the Roslyn Shawl is the perfect canvas for your favourite new yarn or your own hand spun skien.
Finished Measurements : Wingspan x depth at centre after wet blocking: 80” x 24” / 203 cm x 61 cm
Yarn: 600 yds / 549 m DK weight / 8-ply yarn that achieves gauge. Sample knit in Roslyn by Cascade Yarns, colourway 10 Cyan
Needle Size : US size 7 / 4.5 mm long circular needle for holding a large number of sts.
Notions: Tapestry needle, 1 Stitch Marker, blocking wires (optional)
Gauge: 16 sts rows = 4” (10cm) in Stockinette Stitch after gentle blocking (gauge is not overly important; however, it will alter yardage and finished measurements).
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner
For a newer shawl knitter the pattern will allow you to help you learn by watching how the shawl grows, work on eyelets and yarnovers, lifted increases, and picot bind offs, all common elements in basic shawl designs.
