’Rothes’ is released to honour a much loved friend Isabell Harper whose birthday was Sept 10 and named after the town in which she grew up.

This bag can be used for many things - a small evening bag, an E-reader cover, book cover, notions bag or a small knitting project bag.

The finished measurements are approx. 7.5” x 8.5”. A larger size can be accomplished by changing to bulkier wool with appropriately sized needles; keeping in mind the yardage will also need adjusting.

If you’ve wanted to learn I-cord and chart reading this pattern is the perfect size for your first attempt. It is knit flat, from the bottom up to the point and then and I-cord is attached. It is knit in st st (knit on public side & purl on inside). Two colours of sport yarn are used.

You will need one button, stitch markers are optional but helpful for beginner knitters to mark the selvedge st, which is not indicated on the chart. A needle to sew in ends.
