NEEDLES
US #9 5.5 mm or size needed to obtain gauge;
All sizes: 24” 60 cm, 32” 80 cm and 40” 100 cm circular needles and double-pointed needles or circulars for small-circumference knitting
Sizes XL-XXL: 60” 150 cm circular needles.

US #7 4.5 mm or two sizes smaller than gauge needles;
40” 100 cm circular (body ribbing), 16” 40 cm circular (neckband), and double-pointed needles or circulars for small-circumference knitting (cuffs).

Note: Begin with the shortest length and switch to a longer length as needed while working the yoke. Work the sleeves with your preferred needles for small-circumference knitting.

NOTIONS
5 stitch markers (including one to indicate end of round).
3 stitch holders or waste yarn.
Blunt tapestry needle.
Blocking pins, if desired.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
This garment is worked both flat and in the round from the top down.
Directions for the cast ons, bind off and raglan increases, as well as other useful information, can be found in the Techniques section.
The neck stitches are worked flat, then the yoke is knit in the round down to the intarsia sections on the front of the garment, which are worked flat, creating an opening at the back of the garment which will later be seamed.
Once the raglan shaping is completed, the yoke is divided to work the body while the sleeve stitches are reserved on holders or waste yarn.
Once the intarsia sections have been completed, the body is worked again in the round.
2x2 Ribbing is always worked on smaller needles.
The sleeves are worked from the upper arm down and are tapered with decreases to the cuff.
Finishing includes a ribbed neckband and decorative stitches in a contrasting color along the back seam.
