Gauge is not important, as it is a toy, just be sure to use a hook 2 or 3 sizes smaller than your yarn weight recommends so stuffing will not show through your stitches. Safety eyes are possible for flasks not intended for children under 3, and a variety of facial expressions are possible. This is a great project to use up those scraps of yarn you have laying around.
