Yarn
Fingering weight yarn (75% wool, 25% nylon), approx. 400m / 440 yds per 100g
310 (320, 360) metres / 310 (350, 400)
The two samples were knit in
Mrs Lam Yarns Wa Sock 365m / 399yds per 100g (80% Merino, 20% Nylon
Limmo Design Hand-dyed sock yarn 420m / 425yds (75% Wool, 25% Nylon)
Note that metreage can differ depending on the length of the sock.
Gauge
The socks are knit with a tight gauge to create a durable fabric.
36 sts and 45 rnds = 10x10 cm / 4x4” in stocking stitch after blocking
38 sts and 45 rnds = 10x10 cm / 4x4” in pattern after blocking
Make sure both rnd and stitch gauge is correct. That will ensure your socks fit.
For the sample, needle size 2.25 mm / US1 was used to obtain gauge. And for below gauge size 2.0 mm / US0.
I knit with a tight gauge, so you might need to go down a needle size to obtain gauge.
