The Rubrication shawl is an asymmetrical shawl worked straight on the needles, but worn on the bias. Mock cables and leaves cascade down the shawl with a delicate lace border worked simultanously. Rubrication is worked in a stunning camel/silk 4ply from TravelKnitter dyed in Larissa’s signature red.

The pattern is fully charted. It includes a schematic and tips on the construction.

Rubrication is inspired by the red lettering found in both manuscripts and early printed books. These books use the colour red both as decoration and as a reading aid. Karie was inspired by quills, ink droplets and the colour red (of course).

Suitable for experienced knitters.
