I saw this yarn at my LYS and thought that I had to make a shawl using garter stitch. The rest flowed from there. This is a top down shawl with two cast on options: either a garter tab cast on for more advanced knitters or an ordinary cast on for beginners to lace.

The pattern is both written and charted and it provides a stitch count chart at the end to keep track of rows; the stitch count chart provides the number of stitches between each stitch marker as well. Additionally a number of points are noted where the knitter can start the edging so that yarn usage can be maximized. Approximately 65% of yarn is needed for edging.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sizes: Scarf version and Shawl version.

Final measurements: Approx. 40in/102cm (48in/122cm) across and 12.5in/32cm (14in/36cm) in length.

Materials:

• Size 4mm (US 6) circular needles (at least 32”/80cm long)

• Crochet Hook (size G/4mm) - for cast on only.

• Scrap yarn

• Stitch markers (approx. 6 for shawl body and up to 21 for edging)

• Tapestry needle
