These adorable pants can be knit with your choice of cuff - either a frilly bell ruffle or a lacy feather-and-fan cuff. Knit in the round with minimal seaming, they’re a quick, easy, and fun project.

Pants are shown in the smallest size (lilac ruffle pants) on a 2-year old and the largest size (multi feather and fan pants) on a 5 year old - because these are knit with an easy fit and a drawstring waist, they can be knit to any length desired and are very flexible in what babies and children they’ll fit.

Re: sizing - while based on standard measurements for the average kid that age, they can also work on a MUCH older kid than the sizes listed, depending on the kid. The important thing to do is take measurements and make sure they’re the right size for the kid in question! (Length is especially key - the width isn’t as important because of the drawstring & the forgiving nature of knits.)

These can be worn just as cute pants for kids up to 5, or, for parents who are interested in cloth diapering their younger children, they can be used as “longies” diaper covers and lanolized. (If you plan to lanolize them, be sure to use non-superwash wool.)
