The pattern is written in two ways; to knit the sweater the old Icelandic wool sweater style (bottom up) and to knit the sweater top down.
The sweater is knitted in the round with stockinette stitch and stranded knitting on the yoke. The ribbings at the bottom of the body, sleeves and the collar are knitted; k 1 st, p 1 st, repeat.

US 7 (4.5 mm) and US 8 (5 mm), 40 and 80 cm circular needles
US 7 (4.5 mm) and US 8 (5 mm) double pointed needles

Gauge
4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm) = 17 sts and 23 rounds in stockinette stitch on needles US 8 (5 mm).

Uppskriftinni fylgja leiðbeiningar til að prjóna peysuna á tvo vegu; önnur leiðin er hin klassíska leið til að prjóna lopapeysu þ.e. að byrja neðst og prjóna upp en hin leiðin er að byrja uppi og prjóna niður.

Peysan er prjónuð í hring, með sléttu prjóni og tvíbandaprjóni. Bolur og ermar eru einlit upp að höndum. Munstur á axlastykki er prjónað með tvíbandaprjóni.
Brugðning neðan á bol og ermum ásamt hálslíningu er prjónuð; 1 L sl, 1 L br til skiptis.
