Rustic Sweater
“Because the knitting is not blocked, this cozy, thick, wool sweater has extra loft and maintains the dense texture of the ribbing and cables. The addition of embroidered wooden beads along the sleeves and yoke adds to the rustic look of the tweed green yarns.”
There are two different gauges, both measured holding 2 strands of yarn together as one.
The gauge for the yoke and sleeves: 16 sts x 18 rows = 4”/10 cm on US 9/5.5 mm needles.
The gauge for the back and front: 14 sts x 20 rows = 4”/10 cm on US 10.5/6.5 mm needles.
The sweater uses 6 different shades of the same color, knit with 2 strands at the same time to achieve a subtle, “ombre” color change from hem to yoke.
The sweater pictured was made with Tahki Donegal Tweed (183yd/169m per 100g), 2 skeins each (366yd) dark green #849, forest green #878, medium green #807, grass green #803, yellow green #855, and pale green #825. (Total yardage for all sizes: 2196yd.)
The pattern also calls for approx. 325 6mm round wooden beads and a size 11 beading needle.
