Sacred Mice
Sacred Mice are the one thing your cat will probably prefer over the real thing. This pattern was originally developed as a quick gift for my favorite felines. In 2008, I started sending litters of them to Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi for the domestic cats sheltered there. Finally, through the kindness of my vet, Dr. Beth at The Cat Practice in Marina del Rey, CA, we have been selling them to raise money for Cedarhill, one of my ‘pet’ charities. S far, Dr. Beth and I raised more than $1000 for this wonderful organization.
The entire purchase price of each Sacred Mouse pattern will be donated to Cedarhill. The finished mice are available in my etsy shop where the entire purchase price will also be donated.
If you decide to sell your Sacred Mice, please consider donating some or all of the proceeds to your favorite animal shelter or charitable organization.
What makes these mice sacred are the thoughts that you hold in your mind as you crochet them. Imagine that your love and concern create strands of energy that begin in your heart, travel through your arms and out your fingers, where they become entwined with the yarn and are woven into the finished mouse.
A purring cat in your lap adds more to the experience!
