Sage the Sphinx is a little bit kawaii and I had to make her into a cat. I hope you enjoy the design!

Sage is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Sage is approx. 14cm tall, 16cm long.

You will need:

• 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
• 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted, 50g MUSTARD, small amounts of YELLOW, PINK, PURPLE and BLUE
• BLACK and WHITE 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
• A pair of 9mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
• When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
• I’ve used the following yarns: o MUSTARD = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 063 Saffron o YELLOW = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 006 Yellow o PINK = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 012 Candy Pink o PURPLE = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 016 Orchid o BLUE = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 032 Blue
• I have used safety eyes but you may choose to embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
