From the book: “We derived the shape for the bolero from an eighteenth-century naval jacket, while the patchwork is inspired by old boat sails that have been patched together to make them seaworthy again. In keeping with the recycling theme, the indigo yarn used comes from an old Artwork sweater, which was unraveled and reknitted. For the overstitching, use a natural-colored linen yarn or even a soft cotton string.”
