I come from a sailing and sea loving family and I’ve been fascinated about knots as long as I can remember.
This sock has two Reef Knots on the cuff and twined rope on the front of the foot and over the toes.
Yarn
100 – 120 meters (109 – 131 yards) of Sport
weight yarn; 420 m (459 yards) / 150 g, 75%
wool, 25% nylon.
Sample uses Zwerger Garn; Opal Uni Solid 6
ply, 75% wool, 25% nylon, in color 7902 –
Purple. 0.5 skeins for size EU 39, Medium;
foot length 26 cm (10.25 inch), foot circum.
24 cm (9.5 inch).
Sizing
S M, L
to fit foot circum of: 22 24, 26 cm (8.5 9.5,
10.25 with 2 cm (.8 inch) of negative ease
Needles
A set of 5 dpn’s or at least 80 cm (32 inches)
long circular needle for magic loop, size 3 mm
(US 2 ½) or to obtain gauge
Gauge
30 sts and 40 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in
stockinette sts in the round, after wet
bocking.

4/4 LC = 4 over 4 left turn cable: Slip next 4

Notes
• Use the 4/4 LC cable on your left foot sock and 4/4 RC cable on your right foot sock.
• When knitting the horizontal cable panel, the decreases alternate between k2tog and k3tog.
• When picking up sts pick up 2 sts, skip 1; rep from will give you a more even result.
• Use the Finchley Graft Method (link to video tutorial) instead of 3 needle bind off for a
smoother seam. It’s super easy!

* Pattern uses Knitting Cast on Method when casting on for the horizontal cable panel. There’s a stich by stitch tutorial in the pattern.
