All lace is, to some extent, a study in negative space, and that is particularly true of the exciting combination of the dramatic and geometric that forms the unique motifs of this shawl. The strategic arrangement of angular mesh allows stockinette Froebel star shapes to subtly arise, harkening to the folkloric origins of that unique shape. With old world designs and old school wrapability, this is sure to become a wardrobe staple.

The Salem Shawl is a large triangle shawl, worked flat from the top center, starting with a garter stitch tab.

This pattern includes both written instructions and charts.
