In a small town in Calabria, Italy, people make macaroni by hand using willow branches to shape the pasta. The Salix Shawl is inspired by this practice and the shape of the willow tree’s falling leaves. The asymmetrical triangle shawl starts at the smallest point with increases forming a “stair-stepped” silhouette along one edge.

Yarn Sugar Bush Yarns Cabot (70% Pima cotton, 30% linen; 291 yd 266 m/ 3 ½ oz 100 g): #9018 Tadoule Teal, 4 hanks.
Hook Size E/4 (3.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Yarn needle.
Gauge 2 ½ shells and 6 rows = 4”.
