A cute seamless round yoke pullover with stranded color work, worked from the bottom up with short-row neck shaping. Uses one plain yarn and one hand-dyed—a great way to stretch one or two skeins of fancy yarn into an entire sweater!
Finished Bust
32.75 (35.25, 38, 40.5, 43) (45.5, 48, 50.5, 53)“
Meant to be worn with an inch or more of positive ease.
Yardage
(MC) Solid color worsted weight yarn, 750 (810, 870, 970, 1030) (1090, 1150, 1210, 1270) yds
(CC) Kettle dyed or hand painted worsted weight yarn, 170 (180, 195, 220, 230) (245, 260, 270, 285) yds
Suggested Yarns
For MC, Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, Cascade 220, Valley Yarns Northampton, or any good basic worsted weight.
For CC, hand painted or kettle dyed versions of the above, Malabrigo Worsted, Noro Silk Garden or Kureyon, that one precious skein of madelinetosh Vintage you’ve been hoarding, your own (or somebody else’s) handspun--anything pretty and with some color variation.
Techniques you need to know: short row shaping, stranded color work, grafting in stockinette stitch (Kitchener st). Color work is charted.
