This vintage crochet motif is based on a doily from the trousseau of the designer’s mother; Doris tells its story in the May-June 2011 issue of PieceWork, where it is called the Yokahama Mama motif. The motif continues to offer up its lace goodness to projects, including this swingy crochet skirt.

Finished Size: Waist circumference: 34 (41, 48)“ with stretch to pull on; high hip circumference: 371/2 (45, 521/2)”; finished length: 23” to motif point. Garment shown measures 34”.
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Hempathy (34% hemp, 41% cotton, 25% Modal; 153 yd 140 m/13/4 oz 50g; CYCA #3): #042 snow shadow, 5 (6, 7) balls. Distributed by Knitting Fever.
Hook Size: G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
