Salt River Sweater
This unisex pullover is knitted in pieces from the bottom up, with modified drop shoulders. The sleeves are knitted from the cuff up. The pieces are sewn together and a ribbed neckband is then added. Sample is shown in size 43”.
Yarn Requirements: 6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9) skeins. If you choose to substitute yarn, pick a light worsted weight yarn with little to no halo to show off the cabled patterning best.
Inspiration: Central Arizona’s Salt River area has one of the few remaining wild horse herds in the United States. They can be seen grazing along the edges of the Mesa River by kayakers. The center cable motif of the design represents the river, and is flanked by small horseshoe cable and twisted-stitch marsh grass motifs.
