Saltation

A boxy casual cardigan, taking its inspiration from faded and collected traditional patterns and details from fairisle. The structure of this cardigan is simple, with integral pockets in the deep rib and with side splits and wide selvedge rib fronts. The fronts are straight edged with a deep shoulder slope, and the sleeves are picked up and worked to the cuff. Random and reversed patterns are scattered throughout this design – worked with a chart, but not necessarily too prescriptive – and ends are left for authenticity and effect.
