The Salthill Wristwarmers take their name from the popular Galway suburb and resort, Salthill. Salthill is famous for its long promenade by the sea, perfect for a soothing or bracing walk – depending on the weather! These wristwarmers are the perfect accessory for those colder and windier days – particularly if you also have a Salthill Beanie! You may buy both the Beanie and Wristwarmers together at a discount by entering the code SALTHILL at checkout : ) The discount works whether you buy both now, or whether you already have the Beanie pattern.

The wristwarmers come in three different widths and lengths, and you can mix and match to create just the right size for you. Any Aran yarn should be suitable for this pattern, 5 mm needles/US8 and 5.5mm needles/US9 are recommended (either circular needles or double-pointed needles), but there is some leeway given that Aran yarns can vary a little in thickness. I would suggest being guided by the needle size recommended for the Aran yarn you are using. One 50g skein is enough for the smallest size, and 100g of yarn should be enough for the other sizes.

The cabling pattern is not overly complicated, but there is some adjusting of the stitch marker to ensure that the cabling pattern stays seamless throughout. I would consider this a pattern suitable for intermediate knitters.
