Knitting Pattern for a Classic, Oversized Raglan Cardigan in Brioche Stitch with Decorative Increases along the Round Neck and the Raglan Lines, Double Folded Hems, Cuffs and a Double Knitted Button Band in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.

Structure:
The cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch top down with raglan increases in brioche stitch. First of all, the yoke is worked with shaping the round neck. Therefore, the yoke is worked back and forth in rows with decorative increases along the round neck (and the raglan lines of course). When the round neck is finished, the yoke is worked in rows with decorative increases along the raglan lines only. Then, the sleeve stitches are separated from the body and put to rest on another rope/leftover yarn. The body is then finished in brioche stitch in rows and a double folded hem in stockinette stitch. The sleeves are then worked in brioche stitch in the round and the cuffs are worked like the body hem: a double folded cuff in stockinette stitch. Last, but not least, stitches along the round neck are picked up and a double folded collar in stockinette stitch is added to the neckline and a double knitted button band will be added as well. The fit of the cardigan is heavily oversized and loose around bust, waist and hip. The deep yoke (and armholes) emphasizes the oversized look. The body is relatively short in comparison to the yoke length. The sleeves are wide and without any shaping – once again emphasizing the oversized, cozy look of the design. The brioche stitch of body and sleeves is contrasting nicely with the double knitted cuffs, hems and collar in stockinette stitch.
IMPORTANT: The cardigan will grow A LOT after washing and blocking. Remember that during the knitting process and the first fittings.

Level of difficulty: medium to advanced.
