Sammal is a classic textured button-down cardigan. Sometimes that’s all I want to reach for in my closet… It is worked from the top-down seamlessly with raglan sleeves, and it features tiny braids in the front that add a bit charm.
The Finnish yarn (from Tukuwool) that I used for this design is light and cozy at the same time, and it makes this little sweater a timeless beauty.

MATERIALS
5 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) skeins of Tukuwool Fingering by Tukuwool (100% Wool; 213 yards 195 m/50g) or approx. 1065 (1170, 1235, 1385, 1535, 1660, 1745, 1875, 1960) yards 975 (1070, 1130, 1265, 1400, 1520, 1595, 1715, 1790) m of fingering weight yarn. The sample was knit using colorway Selja.

7 (8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 9, 10, 10) buttons, of approx ½” diameter.

US 4 (3.5 mm) and US 2½ (3 mm) circular needles.

GAUGE
20.5 sts and 33 rows to 4” (10 cm) in sand stitch after blocking on US 4 (3.5 mm) needles.
