PATTERN NOTES
The hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, starting with a Tubular Italian Cast On which transitions into a 2x2 rib. A long 2x2 ribbed brim is worked, enabling a folded brim in the final hat, followed by the cable pattern for the body of the hat, continued through the crown shaping.
The cowl is worked in the round from the top-down starting with ribbing which transitions into the cable pattern. Increases are worked to widen the cowl towards the shoulders, and it finishes with 2x2 ribbing in the larger needle size and a stretchy bind off, so it sits nicely on the shoulders. Perfect under your coat!
The hat and cowl are each worked with one strand of Tough Love Sock held together with one strand of Silk Mist.
The stitch pattern is both written (Stitches Used) and charted (p 3) for your preference. The pattern directions begin on p 5.
