The lace for these socks is simple to knit and I love how it feels; soft and smooth. It is very comfortable worn in shoes and it looks dainty and pretty. The name, Santolina, is from the garden herb Cotton Lavender because the lace reminds me of its delicate foliage.

They are cast on for the cuff and worked in the round from the top down in the lace pattern. The heel flap is worked flat with slip stitches, then the heel is turned on these stitches. Stitches are picked up along the edges of the heel flap for the gusset. The instep is worked in the lace pattern while the gusset and sole are in stocking stitch. After the toe shaping the sock is closed by threading the yarn through remaining stitches. All stitches are slipped purlwise with yarn at back of work unless otherwise instructed.

You can work the lace pattern from the chart or written instructions. if using the chart, note that sizes S & L repeat over 10 stitches, while size M repeats over 11 stitches.

Uses 1 100g skein of yarn.
