Slowly, slowly, the snow melts away. Buds swell, and in the skies, birds make their way north. Spring is near! The Sap Moon is the time of tapping maples, of the sugar festivals, of the lengthening of days, and the surety that another winter has passed. Casts of earthworms now appear in the ground, inviting robins to make their return, and crows throng in alders, their raucous cries summoning in the new season. For these reasons, the Sap Moon is also known as the Worm Moon and the Crow Moon. In 2018, the Sap Moon occurs on March 23, making it also the Paschal Moon, the first moon of spring!

The brown sample shawl was worked with Crooked Kitchen Yarn’s Bluebella (80% BFL/20% silk, colourway: Garam Masala) and is a size small. The green sample shawl is worked with Dream in Color’s Jilly and is also a size small.
