The palette for this colorwork pullover was inspired by my grandmother’s favorite painter, John Singer Sargent, in his 1920 watercolor portrait of Isabella Stewart Gardner. The heathery tweeds give depth to the simple 4-stitch motif, and the sewn-in raglan sleeves
worked in a single color are a modern twist on a traditional style.
