This shawl begins with a square center panel worked in the round from the center point out. The two rectangular side panels are then worked outward from this center panel. The shawl has three snowflake patterns, a large one at the center back, a smaller 6-sided motif and a large interlocking motif at the ends. The motifs are highlighted with (optional) beads that give the lace a bit of sparkle.

You will need a total of approximately 1000 yards of a lofty yarn in 3 colors to knit this pattern as written. If opt to substitute yarns, be sure to find one that will work with your size of beads as this is not a traditional Aran-weight yarn. If choosing to use beads, you will need a total of 580 beads: 368 beads for Chart A, 60 beads each for Chart B and Chart C, and 92 beads for Chart D. Sample used silver-lined crystal beads. When purchasing beads, allow 10-20% extra to allow for loss or breakage.
