Saven II
Being a designer known for menswear and unisex designs, the question Meghan receives most often is, “are you making a feminine version?” In most cases, the answer is usually “no,” but in the case of Saven, the shoulder-emphasizing raglan-saddle construction meant that making the design really work for a feminine shape required some reimagining.
Saven II, by Meghan Babin, features all the same gobsmacking cables as the original, with a simplified modified-drop-shoulder construction and a fit designed for a more petite frame. Based on ASTM Sizing for Women, Saven II is worked at a loftier gauge than the original, for a fabric with more drape and softness. The back and front are worked flat from the bottom up and joined at the shoulders with a three-needle bind off. The sleeves are picked up and knit from the armholes, leaving just the underarm and sides of the sweater to seam in finishing.
