If you are familiar with knitting cables, Zarah will be one of your favourite projects.

You start knitting the cable border of the scarf, pick up stitches from the long side an knit the scarf’s center in moss stitch. At last you work the second border and sew it to the scarf’s center.

For the hat you work the cable border first (provisional cast on) and sew it together with kitchener stitch. Then you pick up sts from the long side and work the crown in moss stitch.
