Scatter
Scatter Shawl is part of Cast On Collaborative’s December of Designers, a fundraiser for suicide awareness. A portion of the sales from this design will go to The Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention to LGBTQ youth. As the mother of an amazing gay woman, I have met many youth and adults who were rejected by their families after revealing their sexual identity.
Here in Utah, where I live, suicide is prevalent, especially in our young people. I have known many people, young and old, who have lost the battle with depression, including my husband. Anyone struggling with depression and suicide ideation is worth saving. I hope you can help support mental health and purchase a copy of Scatter Shawl.
Scatter Shawl is a fingering weight shawl knit in garter stitch with a lace section in between the garter sections. The pattern is accentuated with bobbles on two sides. This pattern is very versatile, in both color choice and length. You can knit the shawl in one color or use up all of the mini skeins you have. You can also choose to knit this without the mohair. The gauge may change so you may have to adjust needle sizes. If you would like a longer shawl, you can continue repeating the pattern section until you are ready for the lace panel border. If you would like to make the shawl shorter, start the lace panel border after completing your last pattern repeat.
Thank you so much!
