GAUGE
22 sts and 34 rounds to 10cm / 4in over stockinette in the round on gauge-size needle(s). Use 4mm / US 6 needle as a starting point for swatching.

One size to fit head circumference: 51 – 56cm / 20-22in
Height from brim to crown: 26cm / 10.24in
Depending on your preferences, the hat can be stretched and blocked to a more or less slouchy shape.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
Latvian Braid
Round 1: K1A, k1B around.
Round 2: Bring both colours in front of the needles, p1A, p1B across round, bringing the next colour over the previous one each time you make a stitch.
Round 3: P1A, p1B around, but bring the next colour under the previous one each time you make a stitch.
Round 4: K1A around.

PATTERN NOTES
The hat is knitted in the round from the bottom up.
