Lion Fun Fur is recommend for the scarf section. In other yarn, look for a strong, thin  central core and medium length eyelashes. All gauges of machine can knit Fun Fur. Bulkies use every other  needle, mid-gauge every 3rd needle, standards & Passaps every 5th needle. The stockinette hood is knitted separately in a smooth yarn in any gauge using any machine. The sample employs 1 skein of Fun Fur but for a longer scarf 2 skeins will be needed.
