Update: I clarified and uploaded instructions where markers are set for the Center Motif (in the Arches Lace section) after Row 16.

Pattern is available in Knit Companion.

The Scottish Highlands Shawl (from my Celtic Shawl Collection) is worked end-to-end in a completely seamless manner. This design was inspired by a very memorable visit to some incredible, ancient Abbey ruins in Scotland.

There is a nice balance between garter stitch and lace work that makes it a fun project.

This design really shows off hand dyed yarns and will look great in any yarn with good drape.

There are size and design options included in the pattern so that you can personalize it for you and your yarn choice. Make it with or without the eyelet lace insert ribbons, make it in one color or several, and choose subtle or stunning contrast colors. I’d love to see it in a gradient…
